Allan Methven
Vice President

Allan Methven is one of Verity’s most experienced and trusted advisors. Having working with the company and in the industry for many years, he has a story and experience that will relate to each of his clients. A certified coach and professional career consultant, Allan specializes in providing strategic counsel and executive coaching to senior executives and middle managers.

Allan has a diverse background in Human Resources consulting in addition to a wide range of experience in general management, sales and training in national and international, private and public sector organizations.

Supplementing his focus on Career Management is additional training and consulting experience in executive search, in-placement, management training, assessment centres, change management and retirement planning.

Prior to joining Verity, Allan was Senior Vice President, Business Development for an international Human Resources consulting firm and Director, Canadian Operations for the U.S.-based training and development firm, Blessing White Inc..

Allan’s general business management experience includes a role as Principal, Corporate Restructuring at the management consulting firm Peat Marwick Stevenson Kellogg, where he led major downsizing projects in the confections, banking and information technology sectors. He also held a series of general management roles at the Ontario Energy Corporation where he was responsible for market development, contract management and energy in transportation.

Before joining the private sector, Allan was an Officer in the Canadian Forces, where he gained many of his leadership and instructional skills, and more than a few stories. He took early retirement as a Colonel. Avocationally, he held the position of General Manager, Marketing Services for the Canadian International Air Show, and is still one of the show’s biggest fans.

Allan earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Royal Military College of Canada, a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Toronto and a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. He currently teaches Organizational Behaviour on a part-time basis at Humber College.
