Michael List leads Verity’s Executive Practice, responsible for overall direction, development and quality of the advisory services provided to Verity’s senior-level clients. He actively works with Verity’s executive clients, providing them advice and counsel on the next phase of their careers.

A senior business executive, Michael has national and international experience leading organizations in consumer goods and information technology sectors. His personalized consulting approach, leadership experiences and senior-level network of business relationships are particularly helpful to his clients in the Executive Practice.

Michael held executive positions at Semi-Tech Corporation, an international, publicly traded, consumer goods company with operations in over 140 countries that featured brands such as Singer, Akai, Pfaff and Sansui. He was the Corporation’s Vice President, Corporate Development and President of Datacrown, a subsidiary in the information technology sector. He was instrumental in a variety of Semi-Tech’s banking and investor initiatives including helping raise more than $4 billion in debt/equity in world capital markets.

Previously, Michael was the President and Chief Operating Officer, Security Card Systems, a subsidiary of Bell Canada Enterprises, where he initiated manufacturing improvements, and focused on increased productivity and sales.

Prior to joining Security Card, Michael was the President and Chief Operating Officer of Teleride Developments, an entrepreneurial company in the software products and systems development sector. He successfully led a business transformation including a major corporate reorganization and securing of venture capital financing to fuel growth.

Michael also has extensive experience in the financial services sector with organizations such as the Bank of Montreal and Arthur Anderson. He spent the first 12 years of his career with IBM Canada

Michael’s community service contributions include being a Member, Board of Directors, Upper Canada College; Member, Premier’s Council on Economic Renewal, Province of Ontario; Chairman, Task Force on Investment in Ontario; and Member, Advisory Board, Centre for International Studies, University of Toronto.

He earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University, attended Brighton College in the United Kingdom, and acquired his early schooling in Jamaica.
