James Frail
Executive Coach

James Frail works with leaders, leadership teams and corporate customers to facilitate leaders and teams in transition, and to achieve alignment on corporate priorities.

James partners with client organizations to lead change through people. Client projects include coaching the senior management team of an Independent Oil and Gas Company’s North American Operations through a leadership transition and alignment program after a major restructuring. James has consulted senior business leaders in two of Canada’s largest independent oil and gas companies.

Prior Positions included Manager Strategy and Operations, Energy Industry with Deloitte Consulting (Calgary) and Manager Business Performance Improvement with KPMG Consulting (Toronto). Prior to entering the Consulting industry James held Operations Management and General Management positions in the building products industry.

James’s early consulting experience focused on leading clients through major transformation projects through clarifying strategy, focus, design, implementation, change management and sustainment. He has an extensive toolkit and practical experience helping leaders and organizations with successful change. As a trusted advisor, James has conducted large change management diagnostics combining surveys, interviews, focus groups and workshops to diagnose change, cultural and engagement themes.

James’ leadership coaching has included development of competency models and development resources, assessment programs, hi-potential coaching, 360 feedback programs and leadership and executive coaching.

James has designed and facilitated client businesses through alignment programs which clarified the vision, identified key improvement themes, developed and aligned team members on tactical plans for execution. The programs included facilitating follow-up accountability sessions to sustained performance through execution.

James received his B.A. Economics from the University of Ottawa in 1990, and an M.B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in 1996.
